Production

To operate in accordance with defined standards and operating procedures, aimed at ensuring regulatory compliance, improving environmental performance, and protecting people.

Naviganti - Pupella 2

The Production pillar focuses on monitoring and reducing the environmental impacts of our manufacturing processes across the entire Group. Our approach is based on comprehensive data collection and clear responsibilities in three key areas:

  1. Energy
    We monitor fuel and natural gas consumption to calculate direct GHG emissions (Scope 1) and indirect emissions from purchased electricity (Scope 2). Beyond monitoring, we support initiatives aimed at reducing these impacts, including:
    • Replacing diesel used for sea trials with HVO, a lower-impact fuel;
    • Purchasing electricity certified through Guarantees of Origin;
    • Installing photovoltaic systems at production sites and monitoring their energy output.

    An actual step in reducing our environmental impact from energy consumption was achieved in 2024, when, thanks to our photovoltaic systems and the purchase of Guarantees of Origin (GO), we were able to cover approximately 99% of Sanlorenzo’s energy needs.

  2. Water
    Although water consumption is limited to civil uses, the issue remains relevant due to the intrinsic link between our products and water as a resource. We ensure accurate reporting of water withdrawals, discharges, and, consequently, consumption.

  3. Waste
    We collect data from operational functions and Group companies for several purposes:
    • Reporting and regulatory compliance;
    • Calculation of Scope 3 GHG emissions, Category 5 – waste generated from operational activities;
    • Monitoring of specific waste disposal categories linked to ESG targets included in the Group’s variable remuneration plan.

Thanks to these initiatives, we aim to optimize production processes with a focus on energy efficiency and sustainability, integrating environmental responsibility as a core element of the day-to-day management of our operations.

Another important topic for Sanlorenzo is the preservation of marine habitats and biodiversity. The Ameglia headquarters operates within the Montemarcello–Magra–Vara Regional Park, making attention to biodiversity particularly significant. Specifically, potential sources of impact include noise pollution, air pollution, water pollution, and light pollution. Nevertheless, Sanlorenzo ensures that shipyard activities are subject to strict constraints to protect the ecosystem; evidence of this commitment is that all facilities are certified under ISO 14001:2015.

All documents relating to establishment certifications can be consulted in section "5. Governance".
