Commitment to the production process

We believe in a work culture based on dialogue and safety and in the importance of promoting an ethical and sustainable supply chain

Processes

For the supply of energy from renewable sources, we have installed photovoltaic panels at the Ameglia site, thanks to which the facility is now not only self-sufficient from an energy point of view but also able to feed self-produced electricity into the grid.

In 2020, a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) study of the fibreglass manufacturing process began, from which it will be possible to determine the extent of emissions and aspects of further possible reduction. The assessment was based on a set of indicators of potential environmental impact - including water, air and soil - internationally recognised by the EN 15804:2012+A2:2019 'Sustainability construction works - Environmental product declarations'.

Both internally and externally, Sanlorenzo is also committed to conveying the importance of minimising waste. All employees have been provided with water bottles to limit the use of plastic bottles.

A goal for the future is to obtain ISO 50001 certification of the Energy Management System integrated with the Environmental Management System (ISO 14001 certified) for all our four sites.
Sanlorenzo yachts are born and evolve thanks to an unparalleled wealth of skills and know-how: from the most extreme shaping of a specific type of wood, to elaborate inlays, to the quality of stitching of structured fabrics. Behind the final result lie the highly qualified skills that Sanlorenzo helps to develop and strengthen in cabinetmakers, carpenters, upholsterers, fitters and many other professional figures.

Human Resources

The supplier network is a strategic element for the Shipyard and this is demonstrated by the continuous support to the contractors: during 2020, a supply chain agreement was initiated with two major Italian banks, through which 70 million Euros of credit lines were made available at an advantageous interest rate.

In order to keep a constant focus on the protection of the rights of workers working in its yards, Sanlorenzo has joined the "Tavolo di prevenzione e lotta al caporalato" (Table for the prevention and fight against illegal hiring of labourers), set up by Confindustria Nautica and which brings together yachting and sailing companies of the region, with the aim of sharing and putting into practice strengthened management models, including contract inspections, and the development of new policies.
Finally, particular emphasis is placed on health and safety, an essential requirement for sound business management, both with regard to direct employees, visitors to the site and the staff of contracted companies (between 2000 and 2500 people are present on a daily basis at the four sites, depending on the time of year).

The Occupational Safety Management System has been implemented since 2016 for all plants, and is UNI EN ISO 45001: 2018 certified. In compliance with the provisions of the Consolidated Work Safety Act, Legislative Decree 81/08, each site has a Prevention and Protection Service Manager (RSPP), who is a Sanlorenzo employee and therefore carefully trained by the Company. At the La Spezia plant, for example, the Safety Department is made up of an RSPP and two Prevention and Protection Service Officers (ASPP).
