Wellbeing, intimacy, and experience are redefining luxury — and reshaping what owners expect from life at sea.

At the Monaco Yacht Show, Sanlorenzo came together with Vogue Business onboard 74Steel Silver Fox to explore what this evolution means for the next generation of superyachting.

Bringing together perspectives from luxury, design and yachting, the conversation explored how changing attitudes to time are influencing a new generation of owners — from a greater emphasis on wellbeing and meaningful experiences to yachts conceived around self-expression and increasingly individual ways of living at sea.

74Steel Silver Fox anticipates this evolution: an expression of purposeful innovation and co-creation at a new scale, with spaces shaped around how its owner wants to live.

Massimo Perotti, Executive Chairman of Sanlorenzo, said:

“The real value in life is time, because time has a limit. You cannot buy time. You want to spend time onboard feeling good. Not only in comfort, but feeling good in all respects. Our capability as Sanlorenzo is to accommodate the requests of our customer, putting Sanlorenzo in the position to really care about how people spend time onboard, and hopefully to have more people spending more time onboard our yacht.”

Tomasso Vincenzi, CEO of Sanlorenzo, added:

“The yacht is the best expression of freedom, silent luxury, privacy, and escape from overcrowded places. We still feel that there is a pride of owning yacht that is still very important, but this pride is more connected to the creativity they express building the yacht instead of as a status symbol.”

Anousha Couttigane, Head of Advisory at Vogue Business, said:

“Every era of history has that thing that everybody wants, but the more coveted these things become, the lower the perception of exclusivity. And so, I think we've seen this push into ultra-luxury experiences because they can still retain that semblance of exclusivity, rarity, and scarcity.”
